Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition Review
Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition comes packaged with the 2011 release of Mortal Kombat among all major consoles, along with the whole set of the various downloadable content, or DLC, that was periodically released for the original game. If you happened to have purchased the game in North America, then the game also comes with PlayStation Store or Xbox Live download codes for the 1995 film “Mortal Kombat” and the album “Mortal Kombat: Songs Inspired by the Warriors.”
The first change in this game is the title screen. It comes with the “Komplete” logo letting you know which version of the game you have loading. The biggest change in this game, however, especially when compared to the first is that all DLC is immediately unlocked at the beginning of the game.
This means that all fatalities, characters, skins, costumes, and alternate costumes are available from the beginning without having to find them through repeatedly playing story mode or purchasing them using the Krypt. This could be a lifesaver, because some people do not like repeatedly playing the same story mode over again and this saves time and effort so that players can spend more time enjoying the game.
The second change is not as big as the first, but it adds to the backstory of all the characters in the game. The Nekropolis is finally updated with all of the characters’ stats, bios, and endings, including the information on console specific characters such as Freddy Krueger.
- Comes with the 1995 Mortal Kombat Film and Album
- Unlocks All DLC, including fatalities, skins, costumes, and characters
- Has a complete Nekropolis
- May not be worth the money if you already purchased the first game at full price
- There is not any new game mechanics, levels, or playable characters that were not already going to be unlocked for free in the first game
Amazon Rating and Customer Reviews: 4.7 out of 5 stars.
